Founder of KWRH and General Manager Ellie Wharton visited our meeting today, to tell us all about our new community radio station, the only one like it in this part of the world. We were particularly delighted to hear that the Webster Groves High School football games are to be broadcast live, beginning tonight, August 21 at 7:00.

In January 2015, Webster-Rock Hill Ministries was granted permission by the FCC to build and operate a low-power FM radio station targeted to the diverse communities of Webster Groves, Rock Hill, Glendale, Shrewsbury, and Warson Woods. Family-friendly programming will include locally-produced, multi-generational and interdenominational features on art and culture, business, religious expression, education, local sports, lifestyle, health and wellness, community values, and much more.

Although the station is not scheduled to go live “on air” until next summer, online programming is already available at http://www.radio63119.org/ .

Active fund raising is underway by this non-profit organization, to cover the costs of setting up the broadcasting studio, as well as ongoing operating expenses. Check out their website and “tune in” for programming that is unique to the residents of 63119!
