The club’s traditions have made room for service, friendship, music, and the wider Rotary community.
Meetings and fellowship
For many years, meetings have included the Pledge of Allegiance, music, an invocation, lunch, introductions of visiting Rotarians and guests, club business, and the day’s program. The club has met in several places around Webster Groves as its membership and community changed.
Longstanding fellowship traditions include the Installation Dinner, a holiday gathering, the Rotary–Lions golf tournament, the Webster Groves High School choir holiday concert, friendly fines, Happy Bucks, and the 50–50 drawing. Proceeds from club traditions have supported The Rotary Foundation and community work.
Connections near and far
The club has valued Inter-City meetings with neighboring clubs and an annual visit from a St. Louis Cardinals representative, a tradition that followed longtime programs by Marty Hendin. Members have also exchanged club banners with visiting Rotarians and participated in Rotary International convention activity, carrying Webster Groves connections beyond the region.
