Blackburn Park Bird Sanctuary invasive-plant removal
Webster Groves Rotary’s most recently reported volunteer work day focused on removing invasive plants at the Blackburn Park Bird Sanctuary.
The sanctuary is cared for by volunteers in partnership with the Webster Groves Parks Department. Public city information describes work there that includes trail improvements, native plantings, and invasive-species control.

Webster Arts Fair Bistro Beverage Booth
Webster Groves Rotary volunteers staffed the Bistro Beverage Booth during the Webster Arts Fair. The club’s annual evening shift included taking orders and payments, serving beer and wine, replenishing supplies, and keeping the booth clean and welcoming for fair visitors.
Members invited family and friends to join the work, making the shift both a practical contribution to the fair and an opportunity to introduce Rotary to neighbors.

Century Oaks in Blackburn Park
As a living legacy of the club’s 2024 Centennial, Rotary gathered acorns from ten local oak species and had them raised into nearly 500 Legacy Oak saplings. In March 2025, the club placed a bench and commemorative plaque at the Rotary Oaks Grove and labeled the first saplings.
