Rotary is easier to understand through people than through a handbook. The club’s Buddy System gives a new member a familiar person to call, sit with, and ask about the parts of club life that are not obvious at first.
A personal introduction to the club
A buddy can make introductions at Friday lunch, explain how committees and service projects work, and help a new member find the activities that fit their interests and availability. The relationship is practical and informal: one Rotarian helping another feel at home.
The purpose is not to rush anyone into a role. It is to make sure a new member knows people, understands where the club is serving, and has an easy way to become involved.
